Around Campus: Housing & Residence Life
Over the past few years Housing and Residence Life have made huge strides in greening FSU’s residence halls. They continue these initiatives as renovations and new buildings continue to come on-line:
- Recycle all cardboard during furniture installation, student move-in and move-out
- Building energy and temperature controls
- On demand hot water system
- Increased use of online application system, email communications, and website
- Administrative resources available on CD
- Energy efficient lighting
- Increased maintenance of air handlers and filters
- Donation of furniture
- Energy Star appliances in student rooms
- Installation of modular carpets
- Water efficient showerheads, toilets, and faucet aerators
