Thank you for your interest in working with Sustainable Campus! Florida State University’s Sustainable Campus works to educate and engage students, staff, and faculty to set an example of campus sustainability and position FSU as a leader of environmental action. 

Our educational efforts, community outreach, and programs work alongside the greater campus efforts and operations to provide everyone with the ability to develop, apply, and practice sustainability. Our efforts seek to conserve resources at FSU and strengthen the positive impact our university leaves upon the local and global environment for generations to come. 

Please see the description of our current openings below. Note that these lists are not exhaustive, and there are additional responsibilities or tasks. All roles are required to work for two consecutive semesters, such as fall 2026 and spring 2027. The starting pay rate is $15/hour. You must be a current student at FSU and not have an expected graduation date before Spring 2027.

Sustainable Campus Graphic Designer

Duties: This part-time position is part of our Sustainability Communications team, who work creatively to share sustainability with the FSU community and beyond. This would serve as a year-long position, from the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 semester. This position is open to all current FSU students to apply. 

What This Role Does: 

  • Meet with the Communication Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator weekly to plan the messaging for events, discuss office projects, and collaborate on our office’s overall communications strategy  
  • Utilize Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Canva to create graphic designs for FSU Sustainable Campus, including posters, flyers, social media posts, stickers, and more  
  • Supports FSU Facilities Communication design projects on an as-needed basis 
  • Complete graphic requests from the Program Coordinators for their events   
  • Maintain a sustainable workload and have open communication with supervisors about which projects should be prioritized   
  • Maintain a highly organized and prioritized to-do list of graphic designs  
  • Have open communication with supervisors and incorporate feedback into designs 
  • Be available for “all hands on deck” office-wide initiatives and events such as reCycle Bike distribution and collection, and Chuck-it for Charity   
  • Must have in-person availability to work in the Sustainable Campus Office
