If you find yourself wrestling with these emotions and negative thoughts about the environment, know you are not alone. In fact, anxiety induced by thoughts of environmental defeat has its own term: eco-anxiety. Eco-anxiety has been defined as “chronic discomfort brought on by an overwhelming fear of environmental disaster,” and is a prevalent issue for many people, not just those who work in the environmental field.

My name’s Zoë, she/her/hers, I’m currently an FSU graduate student in East Asian Languages and Cultures focusing on Chinese language and literature. I am a teaching assistant teaching Chinese 2. I’ve always been interested in sustainability, but I think when it really became a committed practice was in my junior year of high school around the time of taking AP Earth, Space, and Science.

I overestimate the amount of ingredients in most meals, so freezing leftovers like macaroni and cheese, eggplant parmesan, soups, and honestly anything I can’t finish, into a glass tupperware is how I stretch a meal and a buck.

Hiya! My name is Nathan, a senior in Chemistry at FSU. I am 20 years old and transferred to FSU last fall. I use he/him pronouns and have been interested in sustainability since I was 9. I am currently working for the Census Bureau, and hope to help ensure an accurate count of all our citizens.
